Last Friday, October 18th, SRH Law held its 3rd annual volunteer day at the North Branch Cascades in Worcester and Elmore, Vermont. As we have for the past two years, the firm headed out with the Vermont River Conservancy (VRC) to work on improvements to the approximately one-mile trail that runs along VT Route 12 and the Winooski River. The trail is full of cascades, waterfalls, and swimming holes, and has been the focal point of an ongoing effort by VRC to restore the trail and make it fully accessible to people of all abilities.
SRH Law has had the privilege to be part of this effort, to further our mission of giving back to the community and to honor the memory of our colleague, Betsy Catlin, who served on the VRC Board. This year, the firm helped build a large bridge across the river, various stone steps and pathways from the trail to the river’s edge, and an informational kiosk at the trail’s head.
