SRH Law Supports VBSR’s 30th Annual Conference

Posted on September 14, 2020 by SRH Law

SRH Law is proud to support VBSR’s 30th Annual Conference, happening virtually on Tuesday, September 22nd.  The conference will explore three themes:  Anti-Racism, Business Resiliency in the Era of COVID, and The Climate Crisis.  Register for this conference here.

SRH Law is sponsoring Businesses Taking Action Against Racism, a panel discussion on the steps businesses can take to address racism and promote equity.  Four panelists will provide professional input and experience to help your organization stand against racism and support inclusivity and justice:

Paul Suk-Hyun Yoon is a Partner at CQ Strategies, a Vermont-based training collective that works with local and regional organizations to promote equity, justice, and social justice work.

Jabari Paul is the U.S. Activism Manager at Ben & Jerry’s. He leads the charge on activism work on the Social Mission team, and has over 10 years of professional and volunteer experience working in advocacy, campaigns, and the nonprofit sector.

Jen Kimmich is Co-founder and CEO of The Alchemist Brewery.  She is consistently involved in public policy and advocates for working Vermonters and the Environment. In July of this year, The Alchemist released their action plan to dismantle systemic racism in their business and community, which may be found here: https://alchemistbeer.com/#inclusivity.

Molly Betournay is the Director of Social Research and Advocacy at Clean Yield Asset Management. She focuses on socially responsible investing, and works to leverage the rights of shareholders to make positive social impacts within communities.

This discussion will provide guidance regarding actions an organization can take to combat racism and implement change that will support equity and inclusivity. You can find additional information on the VBSR 30th Annual Conference agenda here.
