SRH Law Welcomes Drew Kervick as New Partner

Drew KervickSRH Law is pleased to announce that Drew Kervick has joined the firm’s partnership, effective January 1, 2018.

Drew has practiced at the firm since 2014 and has nine years of experience providing top-quality, creative, solution-oriented legal counsel to clients in the fields of general business, commercial real estate, and health care. He shares the firm’s commitment to making a difference with his practice, and has played a significant role in the firm’s strategic growth in recent years.

“We are thrilled to welcome Drew into the partnership here at SRH Law” said Brian Dunkiel, a partner and co-founder of the firm. “Drew is an exceptional attorney who has developed real expertise in helping clients resolve challenging transactional, regulatory, real estate, financing, and governance issues. His commitment to providing high-quality, personal, and practical legal advice to businesses and non-profits fits perfectly with the firm’s philosophy and focus. We know Drew will continue to help clients excel in their business or mission in his new role as partner.”

Drew’s business practice spans a wide range of matters for both for-profit and non-profit clients including entity formation and corporate governance, business transactions and contracting, and debt- and equity-financing. Having developed a strong client base of socially responsible and other mission-driven companies, Drew has become an authority on topics including benefit corporations, low-profit limited liability companies, crowdfunding, and other tools that help companies further their triple bottom line.

In his commercial real estate practice, Drew focuses on affordable housing, historic rehabilitation, and tax credit financed projects, among other matters. Recently, Drew helped SRH Law client Chroma Technology secure new market tax credit financing for the expansion of the employee-owned company’s manufacturing facility in Bellows Falls. He has a particular passion for projects that revitalize Vermont’s town and village centers and that increase the State’s stock of safe, affordable homes for low-income Vermonters. Drew also provides real estate support for renewable energy projects.

In the health care field, Drew advises providers with respect to transactional matters and regulatory compliance, with the goal of improving Vermonters’ access to high-quality, affordable health care. Drew is a trusted advisor to hospitals, federally qualified health centers, and other purpose-driven providers who rely on him for sound, efficient legal advice to carry out their mission.

“I often refer to SRH Law as a private law firm with a huge heart,” said Drew. “Without exception, our attorneys, paralegals, and staff have come to this firm to do meaningful work, and are extremely dedicated to making a difference with their practice. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this team and I look forward to continuing the firm’s good work in my new role.”

Drew graduated from Boston College Law School summa cum laude in 2007 and clerked for Justice Dooley at the Vermont Supreme Court. He holds a master’s degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an undergraduate degree from Stanford University. He currently serves on the Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility’s Public Policy Committee and is co-chair of the Vermont Bar Association’s Health Law Section. In 2015, Drew moved back to his hometown of Cornwall, where he lives in an old farmhouse with his wife and two (soon to be three) boys. Drew splits his work-week between the firm’s primary office in Burlington and his home office in Cornwall. Outside of work, Drew enjoys listening to Danish fiddle music, boiling sap, and indulging in pie of all varieties.
